Coach Giron took over the Raider girls soccer program in 1983, finishing with a record of 15-6. Over the past 25 years, Coach Giron(586-50-12) has built a national powerhouse in girls high school soccer, ranked 1st nationally by the NSCAA in 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 2004. Throughout his career at STA, Giron has lead the Raiders to 22 consecutive District Titles and 17 State Final Four appearances, capturing 10 State Titles (1990, 1993-99, 2004,2005). The Raiders currently hold national records for the Most Goals Scored in a Season (238), Most Consecutive Wins (145), Most Consecutive Wins without a Tie (118), Most Consecutive Shutouts (26) and Most Shutouts in a Season (29).
In 1997, Coach Giron was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the FACA and the National Federation of State High School Associations Coach of the Year. Over the years, Giron has been named NSCAA Region III South Coach of the Year (1987-93), FACA Coach of the Year (1993, 1997, 2003), and Broward County Coach of the Year (1987-89, 1993, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2003) In 1994, Coach Giron was inducted into the Broward Hall of Fame. In 2007, Coach Giron was named Girls Soccer National High School Coach of the year.
Coach Giron earned his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sports Psychology from Florida Atlantic University, where he also played soccer. He has served as Soccer Director for the City of Fort Lauderdale and has coached travel soccer in local soccer clubs and ODP programs. Giron holds NSCAA National Advanced and Goalkeeping Level II Coaching Licenses.
Giron also serves as an Assistant Athletic Director at St. Thomas Aquinas High School.
